Jersey Mike's Subs to Open First Long Island Restaurant
Additional restaurants will be coming to both Nassau and Suffolk Counties within the next few months.

Jersey Mike's Subs, a popular sandwich shop, announced they will be opening up their first Long Island restaurant this week.
Franchise owners John Walsh, Susan Daly and Nikki Gingola will be hosting the grand opening and fundraiser for their new Commack store from Wednesday, Sept. 14 to Sunday, Sept. 18.
The store is located on 6224 Jericho Turnpike.

“We look forward to bringing the authentic Jersey Mike’s sub sandwiches to the Northport/Commack community,” Daly said. “We look forward to sharing the Jersey Mike’s experience and getting our customers addicted to the juice.”
The event will be raising money to support the Elwood SEPTA, which Daly says is "an important organization that supports deserving families."

Recently, a total of 5,000 coupons were circulated around town offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 donation to Elwood SEPTA. Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.
The fundraiser is part of the company’s dedication to raising money for charity. Since 2010, the franchise raised over $18 million for charity and distributed over 1.5 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes
The first Jersey Mike's opened in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
Now there is a total of 1,500 restaurants open and under development across the U.S.
In 2016, for the third year in a row, the company was named the number 1 fastest growing chain in the Nation’s Restaurant News Top 100.
In addition to the Commack location, a group of former Dunkin’ Donut and Baskin-Robbins franchise owners, Mitch Cohen, Seth Goldstein, and Al Goldstein, will build five Jersey Mike's locations.
The first of their stores will be opening in Hauppauge in December.
In Nassau County, restaurant industry veteran Jim Denburg plans on opening a Jersey Mike's in Uniondale this November.
Denburg, who also plans to open five Jersey Mike’s locations in the area, also operates multiple Smashburger restaurants in Brooklyn and Rockland county.
In addition, franchise owner Henry Gallo, who operates Jersey Mike’s locations in N.J. and Manhattan, plans to open a restaurant in Freeport.
