I thought the Commack community may be interested: every year since 2011 a user posts on the city-data forums the LI school ranks based off a specific methodology that uses regents test scores, advanced regents diploma percentage, and college plans among others. All of the data is taken from the NYSED report cards issued every year by the state. This year, that user did not post the rankings so I took it upon myself to do them for 2014. Obviously you can take whatever you want out of these numbers, depending on how much you agree with the methodology used. But a couple points:
Commack is ranked 11th overall on LI. 3rd in Suffolk county.
Commack had 88% of the general education (special ed is excluded from the methodology) population graduated with an Advanced Regents Diploma, 7th highest on LI.
99% went on to college, 86% at a 4 year college.
