Man Dies After Becoming Pinned Under Tractor In Suffolk: Police

The tractor rolled backward and struck him, police say.

COMMACK, NY— A man died after becoming pinned under a tractor in Commack Tuesday afternoon, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place on Veterans Memorial Highway at 4:42 p.m.

Abdelmontalab Sati, 62, of Amsterdam, NY, exited a 2023 International tractor and walked behind the rear of the vehicle, which then rolled backward and struck him, police said.

Sati was found unconscious with his legs pinned under the vehicle, police said.

Detectives are investigating what time the incident occurred, police said.

Sati was transported to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
