Man Robs Commack Pet Store At Knifepoint: Police

The 29-year-old was arrested Wednesday after robbing the business Tuesday morning, police say.

COMMACK, NY - A Commack man was arrested for robbing a Commack pet store at knifepoint on Tuesday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

Stephen Fromm, 29, entered Pet Friends at 38 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway 9:50 a.m., approached a cashier, displayed a knife and demanded money, police said.

The cashier opened the drawer and Fromm stole cash before fleeing, police said.

Following an investigation, detectives arrested Fromm on Wednesday, police said.

He was charged with first degree robbery and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He is being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday.
