Man Tries To Steal $1,200 In Wire From Commack Home Depot: Police

The man left the wire behind when an employee confronted him, police say.

COMMACK, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the man who police said stole from a Commack store this month.

A man entered Home Depot, at 5025 Jericho Turnpike, on Feb. 10 and stole more than $1,200 worth of wire, police said. An employee approached the man in the parking lot, and the man left behind the wire and drove away in a blue Subaru Forrester with gold New York State license plates. police said.

Police described the man as 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds. He is wanted for grand larceny.
