Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Commack Crash

The crash occurred on Sunday night.

COMMACK, NY - A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Commack on Sunday night, according to Suffolk Police.

Thomas Canale, 26, of Massapequa, was driving a 2006 Honda eastbound on Jericho Turnpike when he attempted to make a left turn onto northbound Indian Head Road and collided with a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by 25-year-old Gino Macchio, of Dix Hills, who was traveling westbound on Jericho Turnpike at 8 p.m., police said.

Macchio was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries.

Canale, 26, of Massapequa, was transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in the Honda was not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. The investigation is continuing.
