New Rabbi for Young Israel of East Northport
Young dynamic Rabbi to lead East Northport Jewish community

Young Israel of East Northport is pleased to announce the hiring of Rabbi Yosef Loewy as its new rabbi and spiritual leader. He is joined by his wife, Elisheva, who is looking forward to taking an active role in the numerous activities and growth of the Young Israel of East Northport.
Following the recent retirement of YIEN’s founding rabbi, Rabbi Chaim Bausk, who has led YIEN for over 37 years, the synagogue undertook a thorough search for a new rabbi and is thrilled to have found Rabbi Yosef Loewy. Mark Badash, a board member of YIEN, stated, "My wife and I are so excited to have Rabbi Loewy and his wife Elisheva join our community. He is young and enthusiastic, yet wise beyond his years. Rabbi Loewy’s positive energy and excitement is not only welcomed, but has been contagious, bringing us all hope for a bright future for YIEN. He is quite learned and has provided us with insightful and inspirational sermons filled with interesting stories and lessons applicable to our daily life.”

Rabbi Loewy is thrilled to be YIEN’s Rabbi and stated, "I am very honored to serve as the Rabbi of the Young Israel of East Northport. In just a few months, Elisheva and I have gotten to know the various families in the shul and each one of them is so special and brings with them something unique to our shul. The warm and peaceful atmosphere felt when entering our shul says so much about what we represent and value. I am enthusiastic about the various opportunities that lay ahead for our shul and the many new programs we will be launching in the near future. Elisheva and I eagerly look forward to many years of growth together with the entire community."
Rabbi Loewy, originally from Fair Lawn, NJ, brings with him an enthusiasm for community outreach and organizational leadership. He is a graduate of the Yeshiva Ohr Reuven where he received his rabbinical ordination from Rabbi Bezalel Rudinsky. Rabbi Loewy also studied for several years at Ner Israel Rabbinical College, and is currently pursuing a masters in Judaic Education from Touro Graduate School of Judaic Studies.
