Officers Help Deliver Baby In Commack

The baby girl made her speedy entrance into the world early Friday.

COMMACK, NY - Suffolk Police officers helped deliver a baby in Commack early Friday morning.

Officers Walter Fingerle, Kenneth Kaufold, and Douglas Nassifi responded to a 911 call from Thomas Geness, whose wife was giving birth on Lafayette Avenue at 3:15 a.m.

The officers arrived and helped 37-year-old Christine Geness, the full term expectant mother, give birth to a baby girl at 3:23 a.m.

Christine and her newborn daughter were taken to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown by Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Both mother and baby are in good condition.
