COMMACK, NY — Suffolk police on Monday were present at Commack High School to investigate a "potential threat," police said. District officials notified the police of the threat on Saturday.

Police found there was no "credible threat" as of Monday afternoon. Police were at the school during the morning, and will perform periodic checks throughout the day, police said.

Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers are still investigating.

The Commack district received "two anonymous alerts" on Saturday that had "very limited threatening information" directed at a "few" students and not the school as a whole, Newsday reported. Information on the IP addresses involved was handed over to the police.
