Police: Seven People Arrested for Selling Alcohol, Tobacco to a Minor
Seven local businesses sold alcohol and tobacco to a minor during recent police sting, police say.

Seven people were arrested after they were caught selling alcohol and tobacco to a minor at several businesses on Aug. 1 and August 3 in Commack, Hauppauge and Islandia, police said.
Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers conducted an initiative into the sale of alcohol and tobacco to underage patrons at 50 establishments and seven were found to be in violation, police said.

The following people were charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a minor:
Lei Zhou, 20, employed by Commack Wines & Liquors, 214 Mayfair Shopping CenterMarco Parodi, 34, employed by Gulf, 1979 Veterans Memorial Highway, IslandiaSwarn Kaur, 58, employed by Hess, 522 Nesconset Highway, HauppaugeKarma Sherpa, 34, employed by Sunoco, 303 Maple Ave., HauppaugeThe following people were charged with second degree unlawfully dealing with a minor:

Muhammet, who also had an outstanding warrant, was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday, police said. The others were all issued a field appearance ticket and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
