Potential Threats At Commack Schools Investigated By Police
Police are set to remain at Commack Middle School and Commack High School until the end of Tuesday.
COMMACK, NY — Calls were made regarding potential threats made to Commack Middle School and Commack High School on Tuesday, prompting Suffolk police to investigate.
Officers responded to Commack Middle School, at 700 Vanderbilt Parkway, Commack, after school officials and police received calls at 11:15 a.m. about a potential shooting at the school, police said. Officers determined there was no shooting at or credible threat to the school, the department said.
Officers responded to Commack High School, at 1 Scholar Lane, Commack, around 11:20 a.m. after a school official reported receiving a call regarding a potential threat to the school, police said. Officers again determined there was no credible threat to the school, the department stated.

Police are investigating if the two incidents are connected.
"As a precautionary measure, police will remain at the schools through the end of the day," the department said.
