Residents, Family Dog Escape Commack House Fire

The fire broke out on Sunday evening.

COMMACK, NY - A fire broke out at a Commack home on Sunday evening, according to the Commack Fire Department.

The department responded to a call of a house fire on Silver Pond Circle at about 5:04 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a two story home with heavy fire in the basement.

The Kings Park, Smithtown, Dix Hills and East Northport Fire Departments all responded.

Firefighters took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The residents of the home and the family dog all escaped. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
