Residents Team Up With Berland, Donate 60-Plus Thanksgiving Meals

With the help of residents of the 16th Suffolk Legislative District, over 60 bags of Thanksgiving meals were donated to those in need.

COMMACK, NY — Suffolk County Legislator Susan A. Berland partnered with Long Island Cares to collect donations to benefit their "Adopt-a-Family for Thanksgiving" food drive which yielded over 60 donated bags from residents of the 16th Legislative District.

Each bag was stocked with a full Thanksgiving meal including fruit, vegetables, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and dessert.

"It is due to the incredible generosity of our community that we collected over 60 donated bags, each of which contain a full Thanksgiving meal," Berland said via press release. "I was proud to partner with Long Island Cares to host this food drive and am so grateful to all who stopped by our office to drop off their donations, ensuring a happy Thanksgiving for the recipients."
