Rottweiler Scares Off Armed Home Invaders In Commack
A 27-year-old woman was struck in the head with a gun during the home invasion early Tuesday, police say.

COMMACK, NY — Two armed men invaded a Commack home early Tuesday morning and ran off after they were scared by a dog, according to Suffolk Police.
The men entered a home on Orchard Lane at 2:12 a.m. and demanded money from the residents, police said.
One of the burglars struck a 27-year-old woman in the head with a gun and then struggled with the woman’s 54-year-old father, police said.

As the two men struggled, police said, the homeowner’s Rottweiler ran into the room and the burglars fled with nothing.
The woman refused medical attention and the man was not injured.
