Hackneyed-(adjective)-overused; trite
In context: I had hoped the comedian would be funny, but I found his hackneyed jokes dull and unoriginal.

SAT Tip of the Day:
Do not linger on any problem for more than 30 or 40 seconds. Use the process of elimination and take an educated guess whenever possible, but if you cannot do so, move on to the next question. You can always work on omitted answers if you finish a section early.

A simple way to improve your reading comprehension skills is to read regularly. Flipping through the New York Times will give you the opportunity to read well written articles on a variety of topics. Select articles that appeal to you and challenge yourself to one or two that don't.
Did You Know? Many of the sections on the SAT are arranged from least to most difficult. Remember that easy, medium, hard questions have the same point value.
