School Officials: Suspicious Bag Call at Commack High Deemed a Hoax

The following message was posted on the Commack School District website Friday afternoon:

This afternoon a call was made to the Suffolk County Police Department indicating that someone was seen at Commack High School with a suspicious bag. This occurred at dismissal time. Police responded immediately, and students and staff began evacuating the building. The police identified the person who supposedly had the suspicious bag and immediately deemed the call a hoax, and scheduled activities were allowed to resume. As always, the safety of our staff and students is of paramount concern.

All after-school and evening activities will continue as scheduled. Thank you.
