Woman Charged With DWI After Wrong-Way Crash On LIE: Police

The 27-year-old and four other people were hospitalized after the crash on Sunday morning, police say.

COMMACK, NY - A Connecticut woman was arrested for driving drunk after a wrong-way crash on the Long Island Expressway on Sunday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

Michelle Kennedy, 27, was driving a 2009 Honda westbound on the eastbound LIE when she crashed her vehicle into a 2007 Honda CRV near exit 51 in Commack at 5:05 a.m., police said.

Kennedy was transported to St. Catherine of Sienna Medical Center in Smithtown for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

In addition, the driver of the CRV and three passengers were transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Kennedy was arrested and charged with DWI.
