NORTH BABYLON, NY — Residents at the Spangle Drive Senior Center rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on effort to brighten the days of hospice patients and their families.
Mangano Family Funeral Homes and Family Florist partnered with the senior center to create floral arrangements that were donated to Good Shepherd Hospice and the Mary Ann Tully Hospice Inn, bringing color and comfort to patient rooms and shared spaces.
The initiative brought together local seniors and staff from Mangano Family Funeral Homes, who worked side by side, arranging flowers intended to offer a sense of warmth during difficult moments for patients and their loved ones.
“Giving back is an important part of who we are, and we’re thankful to be able to provide comfort and bring warmth and brightness to patient rooms and family spaces during these incredibly difficult moments,” said Sal Mangano, president of Mangano Family Funeral Homes.
Mangano Family Funeral Homes, a family-owned business with more than 115 years of service, said the effort reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting the community beyond traditional funeral services.
“Thank you to our dear friends at Spangle Drive Senior Center for rolling up their sleeves and creating beautiful floral arrangements to remind families they are surrounded by care, compassion and support,” he said. “Our commitment to serving families in such a way aligns with hospice’s mission to create an environment filled with dignity, comfort and serenity.”
