• Long Island Public Arts Festival expands across Suffolk County with landmark exhibitions (tbrnewsmedia.com) — Deer Park residents can look forward to a free outdoor art exhibition at Geiger Park from Sept. 1 to Oct. 4, 2026, featuring large-scale works by 21 New York artists. The Long Island Public Arts Festival is expanding into the newly refurbished park, with a ribbon-cutting planned alongside Town of Babylon officials and additional programming later in Huntington's Heckscher Park.
   

• Motorcyclist seriously hurt in West Babylon wreck (greaterlongisland.com) — A Deer Park motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision Monday afternoon while riding on Little East Neck Road and turning toward Platt Avenue in nearby West Babylon. Both he and the other driver were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, and Suffolk police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them confidentially as they continue the investigation.
   

• East Islip girls soccer team honors life of former star player Kayla Saager-Beckley (newsday.com) — Deer Park's girls soccer team joined East Islip players in a moving on-field tribute to former East Islip star Kayla Saager-Beckley before their game Tuesday. Players exchanged yellow flowers, wore yellow ribbons, and raised funds for brain aneurysm prevention and St. Jude's, as East Islip went on to defeat Deer Park 4–0.
