The Babylon Industrial Development Agency (IDA) recently awarded its annual scholarships to 11 graduating high school students who are looking to further their technical education. The students, who all live in the Town of Babylon, were awarded with a $500 scholarship to help cover education expenses as they continue their academic careers. Members of the Babylon IDA Board as well as Town of Babylon Councilwoman Jackie Gordon attended the ceremony and congratulated the students on their achievement.

“We are proud to provide these hardworking and well-deserving students with some financial assistance to help support their future academic endeavors,” said Babylon IDA spokesperson Brendan Murphy. “These students represent the future of our workforce and their dedication to learning ever-important skills will greatly contribute to Long Island’s developing economy.”
The Babylon IDA Scholarship Award reinforces the IDA’s commitment to providing those within the Town of Babylon opportunities for continued growth and success. This annual scholarship is meant to recognize the students’ accomplishment and help them realize their potential to make a significant contribution to the workforce.
This year’s IDA scholarship winners are Enrique Murcia, Brandon Lugo, Monique McDonald, Serafina Shaner, Patrick J. Nealon, Devyn Chambers, Ryan Dilavore, Kelsey Christiansen, Brenden Lynch, Hailey Smith, and Azly Gonzalez.
