Bethpage Offering Free Tax Assistance

Bethpage Federal Credit Union is offering to prepare tax returns for free to qualified residents.

Low-to moderate-income households in the area can visit 12 Bethpage branches through April 13, where 150 IRS certified volunteers, including bilingual tax assistors, will be available to meet with eligible taxpayers.

To be eligible, the taxpayer must file returns of $49,000 and below.

The services will be available on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons in 12 Bethpage branches including the branch on Montauk Highway in West Babylon.

The North Babylon location isn't listed as a participating branch.
