UPDATE: Police ID Bicyclist Killed in Wyandanch Crash

A bicycle collided with an ATV Wednesday afternoon, police say.

WYANDANCH, NY - A 24-year-old man died after his bicycle collided with an ATV in Wyandanch Wednesday afternoon, police said.

According to police, 26-year-old Joel Foster was traveling eastbound on Davidson Street on his 2015 Yamaha ATV when Inoe Dejesus Padilla steered his bicycle into the path of the ATV and was struck in front of 33 Davidson Street.

Both men were transported by Wyandanch/Wheatley Heights Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where Padilla, of Wyandanch, was pronounced dead. Foster, also Wyandanch, was admitted for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The ATV was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
