The Deer Park Library Needs Volunteers
Are you a Deer Park teen looking for community service hours? There are two ways to volunteer!
The Children’s Services Department is looking for teen volunteers! On Friday, December 7th from 4-5:30pm, teens in 8th – 12th grade can help make warm scarves and cuddly pillows for children in local shelters. You will receive community service credit hours. Volunteer your time and brighten someone’s day!
Register now at the Children’s Reference Desk or call (631) 586-3000.
Like to read? If you’re in 7th through 12th grade, we need your help! How would you like to read great books and write reviews for our Teen Blog? You can earn one hour of community service for every review, and up to ten hours for the school year. Just come in with a parent and your Deer Park library card, fill out the volunteer form and you’re all set. We’ll give you a great list of books to choose from. Packets are available at the Adult Reference Desk.
