The Deer Park Library Needs You

If you love to read, terrific!  If you like competition, even better!  The Library’s Young Adult department is now taking names for 2012 Battle of the Books team.

The Suffolk County Battle of the Books program is an inter-library competition between teams of tweens and teens focused on 8 young adult novels.  It’s a fun filled event open to kids entering 6th – 9th grades in the Fall of 2012.

Here’s the info: the event takes place on Saturday, August 11th at the Javits Lecture Center at Stony Brook University.  Titles will be announced June 1st and the Library will have weekly practice meetings.  All participants must be able to commit to the meetings and the competition.
