Target Sets Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Target will mark the opening of its Huntington Station store with a ribbon-cutting and tour of the store on Tuesday.

The company said the Walt Whitman band, members of fire departments and local officials are scheduled to participate. 

The store, on the site of the former Huntington Townhouse at 124 E. Jericho Tpke., will open to the public on Wednesday, the company said. Signs on the building that say it will open Oct. 13 refer to its official grand opening.

Oasis Deli & Subs Closes Down

Oasis Deli & Subs has shut its doors, according to multiple notes left on the building's windows and door by its owner.

The delicatessen, which had taken over the location previously operated as Black Forest Deli, had been a favorite of village residents for many years.

WEST ISLIP

New Bank, Drive-Thru Window Proposed for CVS Store in West Islip

Kabro Associates, which owns the Sequams Shopping Center, says it is taking a "proactive" step in asking for a special permit for a bank drive-through for the CVS store location at Eaton Lane and Montauk Highway as it has a potential financial institution interested in leasing part of the CVS building if the CVS leaves the site.
