West Islip Home to First New York Gelato Spot
New York Gelato quietly opened its doors last week at the corner of Oak Neck Road, located in the back of Saltwaters Bait & Tackle on Montauk Highway. Just head for the VMA Kemo/Jui Jitsu center at the rear of the tackle building and you’ll see the back door to New York Gelato, or walk to the east side of the bait store to go in the front door.
On a Wednesday evening this week the new frozen dessert and beverage stop was busy, with the customer line sometimes reaching from the big counter display to the front door.

According to Explore LI, sous chef Antonio Guillen has taken over the helm in the kitchen of Four Food Studio in Melville, after executive chef Ben Durham decided to leave the restaurant.

An Asian buffet restaurant could be opening up in West Babylon soon if it passes through the Town of Babylon Planning Board. Restaurant owner Lee Lin spoke through his attorney Eli Elbaum, of Uniondale, during the meeting.

"Call Murf" Building Ordered Demolished by Town
The Babylon Town Board unanimously approved a measure to order the demolition of the decaying building belonging to "Call Murf" Real Estate on Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst.
The property, which lies just outside the village boundaries putting it under the jurisdiction of the Town of Babylon, features a building that has sat decaying for the better part of the last two decades. The building has fallen further into disrepair in recent years, with its facade falling apart and holes opening in the roof and sides of the building.
