‘Curtains’ Hits West Babylon Senior High School Stage

The musical comedy blended mystery, humor, and classic Broadway numbers during a three-night run.

WEST BABYLON, NY — West Babylon Senior High School’s music department and drama club brought mystery, comedy, and classic Broadway flair to the stage with their production of “Curtains,” performed Feb. 5, 6, and 7 in the school’s Performing Arts Center.

Set in 1959, “Curtains” is a comedic whodunit that blends show-stopping musical numbers with a fast-moving mystery. The story follows a detective who is also a devoted musical theater fan as he investigates the sudden murder of a leading lady on opening night of a new production. The result is an energetic and entertaining performance filled with colorful characters, clever twists, and memorable songs.

The West Babylon production showcased a large student cast supported by a dedicated behind-the-scenes crew. Students spent months rehearsing lines and choreography while also designing costumes, constructing sets, and preparing lighting and sound to bring the show to life. Music and drama faculty guided the effort, helping students refine both performance and technical skills throughout the process.
