Deer Hills Pizzeria Closes After 48 Years

Say it ain't so! Deer Hills Pizzeria, a staple on Deer Park Avenue for nearly five decades, has shut its doors.

DEER PARK, NY – Deer Hills Pizzeria closed suddenly, ending nearly five decades of serving up pies to local residents.

The following message was posted on the pizzeria's Facebook page Wednesday night:

Deer Hills Pizzeria has closed due to unforeseen circumstances. It has been our honor and pleasure to have served you and your appetites for the past 48 years! We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks for your loyal patronage, and we are truly grateful for the many friendships made over the years!
Sincerely,
Carmelo & Joe

  • My first slice of pizza I ever ate started 48 years ago with you guys when I couldn't even see over the counter. To me...Deer Hills pizza (it was our "cheers" of Deer Park. Where everyone knew your name.) It's already been a lifetime of memories and great food that won't be forgotten.
  • I'm so sad right now! My teenage years were spent inside this place every day.
  • Deer hills pizzeria was and will always be the best. I am so sad.
  • This is truly sad news guys. I am glad I at least got to bring my family there once to taste your iconic pizza. All the best to you both. None will ever compare.

There has been no word on what might replace the pizzeria in the Deer Hills Plaza at 2128 Deer Park Ave.
