Deer Park Artist's Library Display
Samuel C. Reynaga's oil landscapes and portraits will be at the Lake Avenue library through April.
The only thing missing is John Sterling's signature soundtrack "Yankees Win."
But Samuel C. Reynaga paints, he doesn't do play-by-play of baseball games. And among Reynaga's paintings - a well-known image for sports fans around here: Yankee players celebrating a championship.
That painting, and about a dozen more, are on exhibit at the Deer Park Public Library this month.

Reynaga's portraits and landscapes are here as part of the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts' Rotating Arts Program.
"The program helps artists get their artwork displayed at various public places," said Shawn Cullinane, president of the board of directors for BACCA. "We used to do this all the time, but it fell off for a while. Now that we have a staffer handling it, we are getting it up and running again."

Cullinane said that through the Rotating Arts Program, local artists get their work displayed at the BACCA arts center, as well as at local libraries, banks and Town Hall.
Other paintings by Reynaga include one clearly inspired by GEICO's piggy commercial. That one hangs above the magazine rack.
Reynaga's library pieces also include a couple dancing and an elderly couple embracing.
