Deer Park Bowling Alley Honored For Accessibility At $1K Fundraiser

DEER PARK, NY — A Deer Park bowling alley that has worked to make the sport accessible to people with special needs was recognized during a community fundraiser that raised $1,000 for the local business.

Signature Premier Properties' community giving initiative, Signature Cares, recently hosted a bowling night at Strike 10 Lanes to honor owner Lou Seda for his efforts to make the facility welcoming to bowlers of all abilities.

The event brought together the real estate firm's agents and staff to support the bowling alley, which offers affordable recreation for families and has made accommodations for people with differing abilities.

“Lou has built more than a bowling alley. He’s built a place where families of all abilities feel welcome,” said Kristin Schuster, a local real estate professional with Signature Premier Properties and an advocate for Strike 10 Lanes, who organized the fundraiser. “Tonight was our chance to bowl alongside him and give back to a business that gives so much to this community.”

Seda said the facility's accessibility improvements, including adapted lanes and installed ramps, were developed in response to feedback from families.

“Every lane we've adapted and every ramp we've installed came from listening to what families actually needed," Seda said. "Having Signature Premier Properties turn out in force reminds me why we started this work in the first place.”

The fundraiser raised $1,000 to support Strike 10 Lanes.

Through Signature Cares, the firm's agents and staff contribute financially and volunteer their time to support causes across Long Island.

Kathy Viard, owner of Signature Premier Properties, said the event reflected the firm's commitment to supporting local businesses and community organizations.

“Giving back is part of our culture,” Viard said. “Events like this allow us to come together, raise funds and support companies and organizations that do important work in our communities and create places where people can relax and socialize.”
