Deer Park GNC Employee Sprayed in Eyes After Confronting Thief

An employee at a Deer Park GNC store was sprayed in the eyes with an unknown substance after he confronted a thief Monday night, police said.

The incident occurred at 7 p.m. at the store located at 506 Commack Road, just north of Long Island Avenue.

Police said the employee was sprayed after he confronted a woman who stole two GNC Total Lean Shakes from the store. The employee was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center..

No arrests have been made.
