Deer Park HS Recognizes Top Students At Annual Honor Society Induction
Students were inducted into English, math, science, and social studies honor societies during the school's annual "Night of Excellence."

DEER PARK, NY — Deer Park High School celebrated academic achievement and student dedication during its annual “Night of Excellence” honor society induction ceremony on March 26.
The event recognized new members of the school’s English, math, science, and social studies honor societies, highlighting students’ commitment to scholarship, character, and perseverance across disciplines.
“Tonight we recognize a truly special group of students,” Principal Charles Cobb said. “This moment is not defined by a single test, a single assignment, or even a single year. It is the result of sustained effort, discipline, and a commitment to excellence over time.”

“As members of these honor societies, you are now part of a community that values leadership, service, and scholarship,” Cobb said. “You will be expected not only to achieve, but to contribute — to support your peers, give back to your school, and use your knowledge in meaningful ways.”
Additional student officers helped introduce the inductees. Representing the National English Honor Society were Secretary Tanim Ahmadzai and Treasurer Nicolas Flores. Ava Sacarin, secretary, and Eve Valentine, treasurer, represented the National Social Studies Honor Society. Ahmadzai also served as treasurer for the National Math Honor Society, while Khan represented the National Science Honor Society as secretary.
“Take pride in this accomplishment," Cobb said. "You have earned it. “But also recognize that this is the beginning. The expectations are higher, the opportunity is greater, and the responsibility is yours.”
