Deer Park Resident Pens Second Book

Stan Goldman's "Towers of Damnation" explores some far-fetched, but not impossible acts of terror.

Deer Park resident Stan Goldman, under his pen name Stosh Savage, has written his second book entitled "Towers of Damnation."

"The terrorism situation in the country is the basis for the book," Goldman said. "I put in some possibilities that exist that I really don't think the country has taken much of a look at."

Here's the plot:

Buried in an oil-field in Middle America, six nuclear bombs are being readied for launching. Their targets: six of the most populous cities in the United States. This saga of suspense, romance and intrigue portrays acts of terror that are bone chilling beyond comprehension - but not beyond possibility.

Goldman, a former Wall Street stock broker and Texas oilman, started writing when his wife of 52 years died in 2000.

"Once you start to write, you can't stop," Goldman said. "That I found out."

"Towers of Damnation" has stirred some controversy as News 12 pulled an ad recently that included the line, "You may think twice before getting on another airplane after reading 'Towers of Damnation."

The book includes a subplot of planes being taken down with magnesium bombs. Goldman said he was "very disappointed" that News 12 pulled the ad after a couple viewers called in and complained.

New ads will focus on the romantic angle in the book, Goldman said.

The book is available on Amazon here and for the NOOK here.
