Deer Park Senior Leads Team To Historic Success
Deer Park High School senior Aidan Neilson led his cross-country team to a record-breaking season.

DEER PARK, NY — A Deer Park High School athlete has made school history.
Senior Aidan Neilson competed at the New York State cross-country championship on November 13, the first time a Deer Park runner has qualified for the state race since Joe Parks in 2005.
During the season, Neilson was named second overall in Suffolk County Class A, Division II individual champion and League individual champion for the fourth straight season, boasting a 20-0 league record. He also set the school record in the 5,000-meter race at Sunken Meadow State Park.

“Anchored by the senior class, our team had a pretty successful 2021 cross-country campaign,” Brouillard said. “As always, the boys committed to, worked hard towards and produced results.”
