Deer Park Students Earn Top Honors At NY DECA State Career Conference
Twenty-seven Deer Park High School students competed at the New York DECA State Career Conference in Rochester.
DEER PARK, NY — Twenty-seven Deer Park High School students competed at New York DECA’s 66th annual State Career Conference earlier this month, joining more than 3,000 students from 132 schools across the state in Rochester.
Deer Park students delivered strong performances throughout the competition, with 11 students receiving recognition in various categories and four earning trophies that secured their spots at the international level.
Elizabeth Boyle earned a Top 10 Role Play medal in Hotel & Lodging Management, while Gianna Montes received a Top 10 Role Play medal in Quick Serve Restaurant Management.

Several Deer Park students also placed in the Top 10 on written exams. Aaron Allen was recognized in Principles of Entrepreneurship, Madison Griffin in Retail Merchandising, Samanta Mieses in Restaurant & Food Service Management, Jaidyn Schabe in Personal Financial Literacy, and Jayna Singh in Quick Serve Restaurant Management.

Lauren Marable finished second in Business Services Marketing, Ruby Kappel placed seventh in Apparel & Accessories Marketing, Sidra Syed placed fourth in Food Marketing, and Thomas Wesnofske placed fifth in Automotive Services Marketing.
The four trophy winners will represent Deer Park High School at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, at the end of April.
In addition to their competitive success, several Deer Park students were inducted into the New York DECA Honor Society. Tanin Ahmadzai, Abigail Cullen, Lucas DiVanna, Madison Griffin, Jaidyn Schabe, and Sidra Syed earned the recognition.
To qualify for induction, students must be DECA members for at least three years, maintain an average of 85 or higher in all classes, earn a 90 average in business courses, and participate in at least one state conference.
