Deer Park Swimmers Walk to End Alzheimer's
Student-athletes participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's.

For the second year in a row, the Deer Park/North Babylon girls swimming and diving team participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, held by the Long Island chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association on Sept. 20 at Belmont State Park in North Babylon.
The dedicated student-athletes – more than half of the 32-member high school team, currently 2-1 for the season – walked to support one of the team captains’ grandmothers who is currently afflicted with the disease.
“The enthusiasm with which the team approached this walk was truly moving,” said Deer Park’s Beth Kabaservice, the assistant coach. “We not only raised awareness but also funds for research. It was amazing to see the girls band together to support and comfort one another.”
