Drunk Woman Caused Crash, Fled With 4-Year-Old In Car: SCPD
The 33-year-old was arrested after the incident on Saturday night, police said.
WYANDANCH, NY - A West Babylon woman was arrested for allegedly driving drunk with a 4-year-old child in the car after fleeing the scene of a crash in Wyandanch on Saturday, according to Suffolk Police.
Tasena Jennings, 33, was driving a 1999 Lincoln Navigator northbound on N. 20th Street when she struck an occupied, parked 2003 GMC, causing the GMC to strike a pedestrian in front of 127 N. 20th St. at 7:10 p.m. Jennings then fled the scene, police said.
Jayvon Smith, 19, of Wyandanch, who was inside the GMC, was not injured. The pedestrian, 19-year-old Cyasia Forney-Gaddis, of Bellport, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Officers found Jennings on Conklin Avenue in Wyandanch at 8:02 p.m. They discovered she had been driving with the 4-year-old boy in the car at the time of the crash, police said.
Neither Jennings nor the child was injured, and the boy was released into the custody of a family member.

Jennings was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI with a child passenger 15 years or younger under Leandra’s Law, endangering the welfare of a child, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, and two counts of second degree criminal contempt.
