Perfect weekend weather was just what folks at Saints Cyril and Methodius were praying for this past weekend in Deer Park. The annual tradition of SSCM’s Parish and School communities coming together to treat the locals to a fun family time was the talk of the town this past weekend with SSCM’S Family Festival running from Wednesday through Sunday evening.
Carnival fun included sweet snow cones, freshly made funnel cakes, squeals of glee from spinning rides, and DJs and entertainers providing swinging songs for all to join into the merriment.

While the folks at Newton Shows did their duty in keeping the serious business of safe rides and games galore going, this annual affair takes more than a little elbow grease and sweet treats to cater to the masses. Hundreds of volunteers from both the SSCM Parish Community and the SSCM School Parent Association make this wonderful annual event possible.
With planning beginning several months earlier, the joint Saints Cyril and Methodius Parish / School PA team leaves no stone unturned in ensuring that Festival attendees are treated to a smashing good time from start to finish. The cotton candy flowed freely, the dunk tank was kept in action, and the raffle prizes were more appealing than ever.

On behalf of Saints Cyril and Methodius, many thanks to all of our Family Festival patrons from the local community and beyond, who brought friends and family to share in this amazing annual affair! And of course, special heartfelt thanks to every hard-working volunteer, young and old, who took the time from their busy schedules to ensure that it all went off without a hitch.
