Gang Leader Pleads Guilty For Ordering Murder Of Teen: DA

The 28-year-old MS-13 gang leader ordered the brutal killing of a 15-year-old and worked to plan another murder, the DA said.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY - An MS-13 leader from Wyandanch pleaded guilty on Monday to charges in connection to the murder of a 15-year-old in Nassau County in 2017, according to Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas.

David Sosa-Guevara, also known as Risky, 28, pleaded guilty before Judge Patricia Harrington to charges of second degree murder and second degree conspiracy. He is expected to be sentenced to 24 years to life in prison on January 24, 2020.

"David Sosa-Guevara was the leader of a murderous MS-13 clique on Long Island and personally ordered the killing of Angel Soler, a 15-year old child with his entire life ahead of him," Singas said.

Sosa-Guevara was the head of the Hollywood Clique of MS-13 on Long Island and ordered gang members to collaborate with the Sailors Clique on Long Island in the killing of 15-year old Angel Soler. While he himself was not present at the murder, Sosa-Guevara orchestrated the brutal killing.

Soler was murdered on July 21, 2017, in Nassau County. His body was mutilated – bearing injuries consistent with the use of a machete – and he suffered blunt force trauma to the head. He was then left buried until his remains were discovered under cement on October 2017, in a remote wooded area in Roosevelt, just south of the Southern State Parkway. In addition, Sosa-Guevara worked with other gang members to plan the murder of another alleged MS-13 member who was believed to have been disloyal to the gang and ordered the movement of weapons to Maryland.

In court, Sosa-Guevara admitted he reported to gang leadership in El Salvador and the United States, and the Hollywood clique’s profits were shared with gang leaders in El Salvador. He was arrested by members of the Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Squad in Annapolis, MD, on November 9, 2017.

"Sosa-Guevara’s admission of guilt reveals his true understanding of the overwhelming weight of evidence against him and his role as leader of MS-13’s Hollywood Clique," Drug Enforcement Administration’s New York Division Special Agent in Charge Raymond Donovan said.
