Highly Anticipated Ice Skating Rink to Open at the New Station Plaza at Wyandanch
Grand Opening Celebration & Ribbon-Cutting Scheduled for December 10, 2016
On Saturday, December 3rd, 2016, The Rinx, in conjunction with the Town of Babylon, the Wyandanch Plaza Association, the Albanese Organization, and New York Community Bank, will open the much anticipated outdoor ice skating rink at the Plaza at Wyandanch to the public.
“The Town of Babylon is very excited to welcome The Rinx, adding another exciting attraction to downtown Wyandanch,” said Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer. “Ice skating is fun, healthy, and the perfect way to spend a winter day or night. We hope everyone grabs a friend or family member and comes out for some fun on the ice!”
“We are extremely pleased to have found such a terrific community minded organization in The Rinx. Their expertise with running skating rinks- with lessons, birthday parties, and more- is well documented as they currently operate in Hauppauge, Port Jefferson, and Bethpage,” said Wyandanch Plaza Association Chairman Russell Albanese.

“We look forward to becoming an integral part of the community and are thrilled with the reception we’ve received so far,” said Tom Palamara, Executive Vice President at The Rinx.
The community is invited to attend a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Plaza on December 10th. FREE admission and FREE skate rentals will be offered at the 10-11am, 11::45am-1:15pm, and 1:30-2:30pm sessions only on a first come, first served basis as space- and skates- are limited. Each attendee will be granted admittance to one FREE skating session only on December 10th to allow for many members of the community to enjoy the facility.
