Lidl Supermarket To Open Deer Park Location

DEER PARK, NY — Lidl is officially coming to Deer Park.

The German supermarket chain confirmed with Patch on Monday that their new site will be located at 450 Commack Road and is projected to open in early 2023, a representative said.

A groundbreaking ceremony will also take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m., Lidl US confirmed, to kickoff construction.

This will be the supermarket's 22nd store on Long Island.

Lidl is investing more than $15 million in the Deer Park location, and is estimated to created 60 jobs once it opens, with starting pay starting at $17.50 an hour, including comprehensive benefits. Employees also receive healthcare for all full-and-part-time positions, regardless of hours worked per week, a representative said.

The ceremony will also be attended by John Theissen, of the John Theissen Children’s Foundation, and bag designer Lauren Rochelle.

Lidl partnered with Rochelle to create a limited-edition reusable bag that will launch in stores on May 4. All proceeds from the while-supplies-last bag will be donated to John Theissen Children’s Foundation.
