Local Dress Shop Revived After Devastating Fire

Deer Park dress shop, H & R De Paris Boutique is now open at the CVS shopping center on Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park, after a fire in its original Lake Avenue location ravaged the store and several other surrounding businesses in May.

Owner Hermine Gauthier, was distraught when her dress shop was damaged by the fire on May 19 on this year. The store had been in that location for five years. Gauthier did not want to leave the town that had helped grow her business and was determined to find another location within Deer Park. She moved the store to the Deer Park Avenue location in June.

She and her family members own the shop together. "We chose Deer Park because there were no formal clothing boutiques in the area and we felt there was a need," she said.

In H & R De Paris customers will find much attention to the small details and superior customer service. The special occasion shop feels as if you have walked into a boutique in New York City with affordable prices.

Gauthier, who is a former model, said she decided to go into the dress industry because, "I love fashion and clothes."

Runway brand names such as BCBG, Betsy and Adam, Jones NY, Calvin Klein, Ellen Tracy and others are staples in the stores inventory. If a customer finds a style she loves but not the size, the staff will gladly order it at no extra cost. Fittings and alterations can also be done on site.

Visit the store the day after Thanksgiving for a tremendous discount, every item in the store will be 50-percent off. Also, for the entire month of January, alterations for prom dresses will be free.

Prices start at $89. Accessories are also available in the shop to complete a look.
