Makeda Nicholas Powers N. Babylon in Girls Basketball Quarters

The Lady Bulldogs are a win away from the county finals after win over Kings Park Wednesday.

The North Babylon High School girls basketball team got off to a slow start Wednesday, falling behind Kings Park 19-17 after the first quarter in the Suffolk Class AA quarterfinals.

The Lady Bulldogs quickly put their foot on the gas once the second quarter got underway, though, and North Babylon rolled to a 79-56 victory.

Top-seeded North Babylon was led by junior Makeda Nicholas, who tallied 31 points, 13 blocks and 12 rebounds. Brianna Jones had 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.
