Man Caught Driving With 38 License Suspensions In Copiague: PD

The 68-year-old was pulled over for having a broken taillight when police discovered the license suspensions, police say.

COPIAGUE, NY — An Amityville man was caught driving with 38 license suspensions in Copiague on Saturday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

James Brown, 68, was driving a 1997 Toyota Camry southbound on Ferraris Street, near Dixon Avenue, when an officer pulled him over for a broken tail light at 10 a.m., police said.

A check of Brown’s license revealed 38 license suspensions on 12 different dates, police said. As a result Brown’s vehicle was impounded.

Brown was arrested and charged with first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled for arraignment on a later date.
