Man Critically Injured After Being Hit by Car in Deer Park

BREAKING: It happened Tuesday night, police say.

DEER PARK, NY – A 37-year-old man was critically injured after being struck by a minivan in Deer Park Tuesday night, police said.

According to police, Vincente Perez, of Deer Park, was crossing Bay Shore Road northbound when he was struck by a 1999 Chevy minivan n the westbound lane at about 8:30 p.m.

Perez was transported by Deer Park Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he is listed in critical condition. The driver of the minivan, a 30-year-old Bay Shore man, stayed at the scene and was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.
