Man Fatally Crashes Car Into Pole In Deer Park: SCPD
Police believe the 70-year-old suffered from a medical episode before the crash Tuesday morning.
DEER PARK, NY — A Dix Hills man fatally crashed his car into a pole after apparently suffering from a medical episode in Deer Park on Tuesday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
Michael Scavone, 70, was driving a 2003 Ford Econoline southbound on Commack Road when his car veered off the road and struck a pole at the intersection of Long Island Avenue at 9:36 a.m.
Scavone was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. Detectives believe he may have suffered a medical emergency immediately prior to the crash.
