Man Fights Clerk With Knife, Charged With Armed Robbery: PD
The man forced his way behind the counter, grabbed a knife, and fought with the gas station clerk, police say.

WYANDANCH, NY — A Lynbrook man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after being linked to an armed robbery at a Valero gas station in Wyandanch, Suffolk County Police said.
Police said that Mustafa Demirezen, 56, entered the gas station, located at 10 Long Island Avenue, at about 1 a.m. Wednesday and demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk did not comply and the robber forced his way behind the counter, grabbed a knife, and fought with the clerk, police said.
The clerk called 911 and Demirezen fled without cash, police said. A police officer then saw Demirezen in the parking lot of the gas station and arrested him, officials said.

Demirezen was charged with first-degree robbery, police said. No injuries were reported, police said. He is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
