Man In Ski Mask Approaches 11-Year-Old Boy In North Babylon

The man, who was driving a van, asked the boy if he needed a ride to school, the boy's mother said.

NORTH BABYLON, NY - A North Babylon boy was approached by a man in a ski mask on Thursday morning, according to the boy's mother.

A man in a ski mask driving a van went up to the 11-year-old who was walking by Phelps Lane Pond around 7:45 a.m.

The man then asked the boy if he needed a ride to school. The boy ran back to his home to tell his mother. She says he was "out of breath and scared out of his mind."

He describes the man as driving a blue family-style mini van.

The boy's mother said she contacted police.
