Man Tries to Rob Deer Park Carvel During Snowstorm

A man tried to rob a Carvel store in Deer Park during Saturday's snowstorm.

Police say the man entered the ice cream shop at 137 Bay Shore Road around 3 p.m. and pointed what appeared to be a gun at an employee.

He demanded cash, but fled with no proceeds, police said. It's unclear if the employee refused to hand over cash or if a Carvel in the dead of winter during a snowstorm just doesn't have any cash on hand.

No injuries were reported. No arrests have been made.
