Milton L. Olive Middle School Recognizes Honor Roll Students
More than 70 sixth, seventh and eighth grade students were acknowledged for outstanding academic achievements.

Wyandanch Union Free School District’s Milton L. Olive Middle School hosted its annual first and second quarter honor roll ceremony virtually recognizing more than 70 sixth, seventh and eighth grade students for their outstanding academic achievements and improvements since the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

Students and their families were joined by school district administrators and staff including Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Gina Talbert, Assistant to the Superintendent for Administrative and Instructional Accountability, Dr. Christine Jordan, Milton L. Olive Middle School Principal Dr. Darlene White and Assistant Principal Mr. Darryl Tue who celebrated the students and expressed their pride for the students’ determination to be included on the Principal’s List, High Honor Roll and Honor Roll.
“I am extremely proud to recognize so many scholars who have achieved honor roll status,” said Dr. Talbert. “This means that you are engaged and achieving your academic goals. Continue to take your studies seriously, and you will be rewarded and recognized for your efforts. Congratulations scholars. Keep setting the pace and raising the bar higher.”

The ceremony, which was coordinated by guidance counselor Monique DeMory, also included remarks from Milton L. Olive Middle School PTA president Renee Williamson, Principal Dr. Darlene White and Assistant Principal Mr. Darryl Tue.
“Congratulations to our high achieving scholars, and congratulations to the parents and guardians,” said Dr. White. “In partnership with you, our scholars were able to achieve these academic goals. I look forward to many more accomplishments!”
During the ceremony, students were also recognized for their participation in the No One Eats Alone Program, which highlights the importance of recognizing social isolation and how to bring social and emotional peace to the middle school students. Twenty-four students participated in the program and received a lunch box in addition to being honored during the first virtual ceremony.
